Thomas Campion (1567-1620) was among the most gifted of the English lute song composers, adn was unique in that he wrote the text for all his songs. Campion's songs number well over a hundred, and make up the entirety of his musical output. The present Kithara edition contains twelve of Campion's most loved songs in their solo-song version, including the original lute tablature together with its transcription in modern notation for guitar. It is offered as a celebration of the composer's unique abilities as a poet and tunesmith.
